A few days ago, I saw one of the funniest and most relatable stickers.
I pulled into the parking lot of Publix and parked next to a dark grey mini-van.
As I walked by it, I saw the sticker and burst out loud laughing. The simplicity of it made it even funnier.
It said…
Oof… I felt that pain.
Even though I never owned a mini-van, I sure as hell felt their pain.
The person who has that on their car misses the days of partying and freedom before kids. You know… when they were cool.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I could never have that sticker on my car.
I was never cool in that way.
Tammy (my wife and bartender at RockPit) and I had our first daughter Calista (bartender at RockPit, too) when we were 20.
We didn’t plan it that way, but that ended any chance of us having the “normal” 20’s filled with fun and freedom.
I mean… Look at this 23-year-old nerd with his daughter.
(Me and 2-year-old Calista playing mini-golf in St. Augustine)
And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was cool in a different way.
Sure… we missed out on the spring breaks, the parties, and the streaking through the campus naked, but in a weird way, that works out for you.
Because we missed out on those things, we try to have as much fun as possible at RockPit and bring you along for the party.
We’re always scheming up new ways for you to have fun and enjoy yourself beyond the beer.
Like we did with Back To The Future day. Which was a huge success raising $1120 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
And if you’re looking to have a good time this weekend before we enter into the twilight zone of the election results next week, swing by RockPit.
Starting on Friday and continuing into Saturday, we’ll have RockPitOberfest in full swing.
(Click above to see all the details)
It’s our celebration of Oktoberfest and Halloween all in one with the tapping of 5 new RockPit beers, live music, German food, and all-around fun.
We’ll have plenty of outdoor seating available as we’re closing off most of our front parking lot to allow for more spread out seating arrangements.
We’ll also have all of our new beers on tap outside to help reduce the amount of time you spend in line because I’m sure you hate waiting in line for beer as much as I do.
So… with five new beers on tap, live music, good food, hanging with your friends, and my never-ending-quest to make up for my lost youth via fun parties at RockPit, what else could you possibly do that would be more fun this weekend?
Cheers and see you this weekend.
Chris
P.S. If you do decide to swing by, dress up. We encourage it. You’ll see me in my get up.
