We all looked at it and Chris said “Good god, that’s ugly”. There’s no way we can allow our customers sit and stare at something like that.
I mean, would you enjoy sitting in front of this?
It was pieced together, had random blue pieces and was really… well… blah.
No way in hell we could leave that like it was. Not if we wanted to created the warm feeling of a mountain cabin in our taproom.
Let’s turn the cool room into a cabin
So Sean drew up some plans and we got to work.
First thing Jeremy did was plane 200+ fence boards. Here he is in action. Notice the hair flowing in the wind?
Then we took a FLAMETHROWER to each board. Check out our friend KevinΒ doing work here.
Next, we stained and attached EVERY SINGLE FREAKING BOARD (yes, I’m yelling because it was a lot of boards) to the cool room.
Here’s Brandon and Kevin throwing in a helping hand.
After a hard day’s work, we ended up with a cool room that looks more like you’re sitting on the front porch of a cabin instead of a boring cool room like you see at so many breweries.
But then we had a problem…
We wanted the bar to kick ass. We ALMOST went with the uninspiring “black paint” or palette wood look, but decided too many breweries have that look.
So again, we did our own thing and made the bar look like this.
So there you go. Instead of the typical cool room decor found at many breweries here in Orlando, you can come see one of the most unique in all of the lands.
Until next time!
Cheers!
P.S. Do you see the form below? Go ahead and fill that out. Why? Because you’ll be the first to know when we open and will be invited to exclusive events only available to those who sign up below. Yes, seriously…
The only email locals read every week.
Every week, co-founder Chris Rock sends out a few emails that's been described as "must-read" or "the only email I read" by subscribers. Why?Because he doesn't send the typical "Here's what happening at xyz brewery this week" type of emails.
Instead he sends insider stories, funny content, what beer will be on our taps soon (so you can plan accordingly) and upcoming events at RockPit.
So join in on the fun and enter your email address below.
